Terry Lynn Tatro, resident of Bennington, VT passed away on May 30, 2026.
Terry was born on April 16, 1965, to Robert and Rebecca (Geyette) Tatro. She was one of five children and spent her life in the Bennington area, where she built lasting friendships and deep connections with those around her. From an early age, Terry possessed a kind and compassionate heart and was always happiest when she was helping others.
After receiving her early education, she attended Southern Vermont College, where she earned her certification as a Licensed Nursing Assistant. Terry was incredibly proud of this accomplishment and dedicated herself to caring for others, working for many years as a private nursing assistant in the Bennington area. She approached every patient with kindness, patience, and dignity, treating each person with the same compassion and respect she showed to her own family. Caring for others was more than a profession to Terry—it was a reflection of who she was and the generous heart she carried throughout her life.
Though Terry cared deeply for her patients and family, her loving and compassionate nature reached far beyond those closest to her. She had a heart that naturally cared for others, whether it was a friend in need, a family member, or an animal looking for a safe home. She rescued countless animals throughout her life, especially cats, and found great joy in riding and caring for horses.
Terry's greatest gift was her ability to love. She was selfless, generous, and always willing to help someone when she could, even when she was facing struggles of her own. Despite living with chronic health challenges and disability for much of her adult life, Terry showed incredible strength. She refused to let her circumstances take away her kindness or her appreciation for life's simple joys. She believed in finding the good in people, celebrating life's little moments with her children, and making the most of every day she was given the bests she could.
Her family fondly remembers her remarkable green thumb and the pride she took in her vegetable and flower gardens. She found peace and happiness in watching the things she cared for grow and flourish. When her daughter Ashley was young, Terry and her longtime partner, Dennis, loved taking her camping, hosting family cookouts, and creating memories filled with laughter and love.
Terry's kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.
Terry is survived by her children: Ashley Harrington (Chris), Aja-Avis Tatro, and Vincent Riversong (Mark). Her grandchildren: Connor Harrington, Curtis Harrington, Justice Masse, Carter Masse, Alexia Masse, Skyler Masse, and Alianna Masse. Her father, Robert Tatro.
