On October 7th, 2026, the world grew a little dimmer as the light of Gabrielle’s earthly life went out. Her warmth, laughter, and kindness touched everyone she met, leaving behind a glow that will never fade from our hearts.
Gabrielle was born in September- her favorite time of year to Lawrence J. Betit & Sandra M. Betit’s(D). She grew up in Bennington, VT and graduated from MAUHS where she shined as a field hockey team member. Gabrielle also played field hockey at Dean College where she attended. In her youth, Gabe was a top contending swimmer as a member of the Merauder’s swim team. Swimming was a large part of Gabe’s life- she was also a longtime lifeguard. She enjoyed vacations with her family in York, Maine- fostering a lifelong-love for seaside adventures.
Gabe shared a special love with her husband, Bud G. Mattison. They made their life in Hoosick Falls, NY, surrounded by nature. Together they shared 25 years of recreation, camping, music, family, and travel adventures with their little buddy Weston - Nickerson State Park Campground in Cape Cod was their favorite.
Together we will grieve the loss of our beautiful Gabrielle. A tribute to Gabrielle’s kindness, love, and compassion for others will be remembered by all who loved her. She leaves her brother Lawrence C. Betit(Darlene), his children Jeamae Bell (Alexei) and Thomas Betit and a great niece, Blair Lewis and a great nephew, Aleksei Bell. Her sister, Holly Betit and her sons Jordan and Andrew Mullins(Allison) and great Niece’s Marley, Dahlia and Acacia Mullins.
The love that Gabe received from the Mattison family filled her heart. “Dad” Gilbert Mattison & Rhoda Morton(D) loved Gabe like a daughter. Gabe’s sister-in-law Brenda Mattison, Brother-in-laws; Steve Mattison(D), Dick Mattison(Mary), John Morton(Ellen). Andy & Trish Mattison and many nieces & nephews.
Gabe will be dearly missed by her special friend Kim Deysenroth and special cousins, Kay Johnson, Kit Farrand and Sabrina Miller. As well as many others. If anyone wishes to make a donation in Gabrielle’s memory please contact Autumn Gifford at the Missionary Alliance Church. (802) 442-6840
